Job Title: 2nd Class Industrial Mechanic
Salary: $22/hr.
A Yard-based maritime company is looking for a 2nd Class Industrial Mechanic with the following:
- 3 to 5 years of experience on industrial machinery: Aerial Lifts, Fork Trucks, Cranes, Trucks, etc.
- Ability to read equipment manuals, technical specifications, etc.
- Ability to work nights & weekends as needed.
- Bilingual Spanish is a plus, but the Foreman speaks English
Hours: 7-4PM plus OT (Nights and/or Weekends)
The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for the maintenance and reliable output of all facility equipment. They will work under the direction of the Industrial Maintenance Mechanic Foreman and in coordination with coworkers to achieve these goals.
The ideal candidate will assist in maintaining the reliability of heavy equipment, assist the maintenance team in achieving a smooth and efficient flow of equipment preventative maintenance and repair. Applicants must have a working knowledge of facility equipment including mobile hydraulic and gantry cranes, compressors, fork trucks, aerial reaches, and facility pumps. Experience working in high voltage industrial environments a plus.
Ideal candidates will be able to:
- Work with maintenance mechanics, fabricators and/or technicians through all phases of facility equipment repair in accordance with established schedules.
- Read, interpret and maintain engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Adhere to preventative maintenance schedules for facility equipment and ensure that availability targets are met.
- Work within a safety management system.
Good interpersonal skills and written communication skills required. High school diploma required; post-secondary education in mechanics preferred; a minimum of two to five years of related experience and/or training within an industrial setting; or the combination of education and experience that enables performance of all aspects of the position. Bilingual Spanish a plus.
Use of personal protective equipment such as respirators, hard hats and safety footwear is required while on work sites. Work will involve visiting work sites both indoors and outdoors at all times of the year.
