Driver

A Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation employer partner is seeking a Driver. This employer is a family-owned and operated manufacturing company that has been in business since 1945. We are looking for a dedicated driver to join our team to transport our products to our customers across the designated delivery areas. The driver will be the face of the company during deliveries, ensuring that each customer receives their order on time, intact, and with exceptional service.

***Please note this employer partner is off the yard located in Red Hook, Brooklyn***

Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00AM to 4:30PM — Salary: $20 + Bonus (based on mileage at the month’s end)

Duties/Responsibilities:
· Safely operate company vehicles to deliver products to customers within specified delivery zones.
· Load and unload products at the warehouse and customer locations.
· Ensure timely deliveries according to the daily schedule.
· Communicate effectively with customers and the internal team regarding deliveries.
· Verify delivery information, including addresses, delivery instructions, and product details.
· Perform routine checks on vehicles and report any issues to management.
· Maintain accurate records of deliveries and any issues encountered.
· Ensure all products are handled and delivered in perfect condition.
· Adhere to company policies, traffic laws, and safety regulations at all times.
· Provide excellent customer service and represent the company in a professional manner.
· Maintain empty completed worktables at all times.
· Set up, maintain, and operate a cardboard box machine.
· Construct wood boxes and crates efficiently.
· Arrange for saw blades to be sharpened as needed.
· Carefully package crates to be shipped.
· Ensure all products are listed, and labels are placed on shipping boxes/crates.
· Advise the Purchasing agent when supplies are low in the Shipping department.
· Ensure the authorized pack screen is empty at the end of the work shift.
· Perform stock counts in a timely fashion.

Qualifications/Requirements:
· A minimum of 2 – 3 years of experience
· Valid class D driver’s license with a clean driving record.
· Experience driving delivery vehicles (vans, trucks, etc.).
· Knowledge of the local area and routes.
· Ability to lift heavy products (up to 50 lbs) and assist with loading and unloading.
· Strong attention to detail and punctuality.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance is a plus.
· Must be reliable, responsible, and have a customer-focused mindset.
