Job Title: Assistant Property Manager

Employment Status: Full-time, Exempt

Department: Property Management

Reports To: Senior Property Manager

Salary: $65,000 - $75,000

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-4pm (Onsite, Brooklyn NY)


The Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation (BNYDC) is a not-for-profit corporation that serves as the real estate developer and property manager of the Yard on behalf of its owner, the City of New York. The Assistant Property Manager will work alongside and under the direction of the Senior Property Manager and be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the assigned assets.

Areas of Responsibility
  • Conduct physical inspections of BNY property and tenant spaces
  • Ensure compliance with BNYDC and government agencies, utilize databases to track and update information
  • Prepare reports by collecting and summarizing data and trends
  • Monitors contractor performance to ensure work is completed according to specifications
  • Maintain communication with all stakeholders
  • Participate in educational opportunities
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Required Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to think and act independently without supervision
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must be able to multi-task effectively and to manage multiple deadlines
  • 2+ years of property management experience
  • Associate degree preferred
  • Vocational or mechanical experience in plumbing or HVAC preferred
