A Brooklyn Navy Yard-based public ferry company is seeking multiple Fuel Team Member(s).

About the Opportunity:
As a member of the seasonal fuel team, you will be responsible for safe, accurate, and secure fueling operations conducted on ferry vessels.
About You: This person will be adaptable, dynamic, and embody the company’s RESPECT Service System.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Ensure all aspects of safety during task execution.

Assist with fueling vessels.

Accept tasks from the shift Engineering Supervisor and plan/implement execution.

Clean and generally improve facilities, vessels, and equipment as required by the Engineering Supervisor.

Utilize tools to accomplish designated tasks.

Use of approved Hazmat required for Paints, Solvents & Cleaning Agents.

Seek the highest levels of quality and professionalism.

Work to achieve the highest levels of performance and productivity.

Assist Engineering Supervisor in ensuring compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal safety and environmental regulations.

Assist Engineering Supervisor in ensuring the vessel is always in an inspection-ready condition.
Requirements & Qualifications:

At least 1 year of experience in a service and/or operations setting

Proven track record of working successfully in a team environment

Demonstrated ability to bring increased value to tasks through efficiencies and cost-control

Ability to push/pull/lift up to 50 pounds.

Ability to climb ladders.

Ability to work near water.

Ability to work in tight spaces.
