A Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation employer partner is seeking Junior Developer. As a Junior Developer, you will work closely with senior engineers, designers, and product managers to build, test, and maintain software applications. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their development career to gain hands-on experience in a collaborative and creative environment.
*3 Month Assignment with the opportunity of being converted
Key Responsibilities:
-Assist in the development and maintenance of web and mobile applications.
-Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
-Participate in code reviews and team meetings.
-Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
-Debug and troubleshoot issues in existing applications.
-Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and development best practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
-Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, or Java.
-Familiarity with front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Vue.js) and/or back-end technologies (e.g., Node.js, Django).
-Basic understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git).
-Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
-Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
-Internship or project experience in software development.
-Exposure to Agile development methodologies.
-Experience with RESTful APIs and databases (SQL or NoSQL).
