Job Title: Technician / Junior Engineer

A Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation business is seeking a Technician or Junior Engineer to perform CAD and CAM work, machining, component sourcing, component assembly, rapid prototyping, workshop organization and workshop maintenance.
Qualifications/skills:
Bachelor or Associate Degree -Mechanical Engineering background is ideal
SolidWorks proficiency
CAM software proficiency
Fabrication experience
Understanding of engineering drawings, schematics and build instructions
Understanding of precision measuring equipment
Communication and collaboration skills
Computer skills including Microsoft Office suite
Bonus Qualifications:
Experience with Robotics
Experience with Scripting
Experience with Python
Experience with GitHub
General:
Background should include a history of taking a “hands-on” approach to problem solving and the ability to work with complex integrated assemblies that may include mechanical precision, high and low voltage wiring and hydraulics. Will be working with a small team of scientists and engineers.
