Russ & Daughters is a beloved New York institution, serving up smoked fish, caviar, bagels, and babka. Its original location on E. Houston Street in the Lower East Side has been open since 1914, and is one of the last remaining appetizing stores in the region. Now owned and operated by the fourth generation of the Russ family, the company expanded to Brooklyn in 2018, drawn by the Brooklyn Navy Yard’s vast space and unique potential.
Building 77 is now home to a diverse food hall, anchored by Russ & Daughters’ retail outpost, production bakery and kitchens, and nationwide shipping hub. Here you can watch the experts make traditional New York bagels, and then take some home to nosh on. The appetizing counter is open for breakfast and lunch, and offers delivery and catering platters.
