Job Title: Social Media Manager

Employment Status: Part-Time

Salary: $32 -$36 p/h

A Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation business is seeking a Social Media Manager to lead social-first image and video content creator with editing experience to develop, create, edit and publish content out of our Brooklyn-based office. They will execute and strategically plan the content that will go live in our social channels in collaboration with our marketing team. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about the mission to dress people!

Job Summary

● Create a monthly social media calendar in collaboration with Director of Content/Founder
● Post content in a timely and strategic fashion that is coordinated with the brand’s marketing calendar
● Capture stills and video of in-house BTS content using DSLR/iPhone
● Planning, capturing, and editing of new content for web and social platforms
● Instagram + TikTok Research for Trends + Sounds for Reels + TikToks. Pull insights that are aligned with the overarching creative strategy with the brand’s target audience.
● Graphic design for social – creating engaging branded content for Instagram stories and in-feed posts
● Developing engaging captions for social content
● Conduct research and utilize that knowledge to optimize social media presence such as hashtags and engagement tools
● Utilize tools to assist in the planning of the social media content calendar and scheduling posts on a variety of social platforms

Photo/Video Post Production
○ Social video editing
■ Color grading, speed ramping, match cuts, creating title cards, and
subtitles) preferably in Davinci Resolve on Sony/DSLR footage
■ iPhone editing software (Capcut, inshot, etc)
● Assist in the collection and analysis of the social platforms analytics and provide
strategic suggestions regarding the reports
Photoshoot Support

● Day Of
○ Coming up with briefs/plan for social media video captures
○ Capture content
○ Prep logistics for models and product as needed for shoots
○ Edit content according to brand guidelines

Required Prior skills/experience/background
● Prior experience creating social-first content for brands
● Strong working knowledge of the Adobe Suite (Photoshop and Lightroom skills are a
must)
● Strong working knowledge of Davinci Resolve or Adobe Premiere
● Strong working knowledge of iPhone editing software (ex. capcut, inshot, etc)
nfluencer Marketing (Potential Involvement based on the business needs at the time)
● Administrative support around communication via email and social
● Creating orders for Influencers
● Conducting influencer research

Preferred Experience
● Experience with DSLR cameras and cinematic cameras
● Experience with fashion brands
● Interest in queer fashion

● Employee is eligible for 1 day of remote work per week
Pay Range
● $32-36
● Average of 20-25 hours a week
