Job Title: Custom Finisher
Employment Status: Full-Time
Salary: $24 - $30 p/h
A Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation business is seeking a Custom Finisher. Our company is a contemporary art framing studio specializing in the fabrication of handmade museum-quality frames. We are seeking a motivated individual to become an integral part of our Finishing team.
The candidate will be knowledgeable in a variety of unique, creative, and traditional finishing practices including:
– Staining with water-based soluble dye powders
– Spray booth w/ HVLP system (priming/painting)
– Hand Applied Finishes (oils, wax, polishes, brushed, rubs)
– Custom color matching and mixing
– Hand sanding with strict attention to detail
– General studio tasks/duties
– Contribute/develop creative ideas/process
