A Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation employer partner is seeking a Product Development & Import Coordinator.

Job Overview:
In search for someone super organized and detail-oriented who can help keep track of product development and import process. This company works with different vendors and factories internationally, so there’s a lot of coordination involved — from requesting and tracking samples, to comparing costs, managing production timelines, checking quality, and making sure deliveries run smoothly.

The right person should be comfortable with Excel and data analysis, good at juggling multiple deadlines, and ideally have some background in merchandising, product development, or supply chain. Most importantly, they should be proactive, structured, and able to work independently while still collaborating with design and sales teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in sourcing and vetting manufacturers
Request, track, and evaluate product samples
Support price analysis and supplier negotiations
Coordinate production timelines and quality control
Oversee import logistics and ensure timely delivery
Maintain organized records of vendors, pricing, and shipments
Collaborate with design and sales teams to align development with brand strategies

Ideal Candidate:
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Proficiency in Excel and ability to analyze data
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Interest in design, product development, and international trade
Experience in import/export, retail merchandising, or supply chain is a plus
Proactive, structured, and able to work independently while staying aligned with the team
