Job Title: PT Warehouse Operations Associate
Employment Status: Part-Time
Salary: $ 20 p/h
A Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation business is seeking a Warehouse Operations Associate; responsible for supporting the operations and organization of our warehouse. We offer at-risk families living in poverty urgently needed children’s supplies and parenting education to promote the health, well-being, and safety of their children five years of age and younger.
Daily task can include:
● Processing and inventorying individual and corporate donations
● Fulfilling orders
● Working with interns and volunteers
● Maintaining a clean and organized environment
● Providing high-quality customer service to all visitors
Responsibilities and Duties:
● Processes, screens, and sorts all individual in-kind donations and checks for safety recalls
● Enters all incoming donations through our electronic inventory management system
● Responsible for receiving, cleaning, inventorying, and sorting corporate product donations (with the help of volunteers) and reporting counts for inventory
● Supports the overall organization of the warehouse to effectively store donations while creating space for outgoing donations and volunteer projects
● Works hands-on with physical inventory in the warehouse, including pulling children’s gear (strollers, car seats, pack n’ plays), clothing, and other baby essentials from warehouse shelving to prepare each partner’s donation
● Assists with general operations and events as needed
● Other duties as assigned by the CEO
Requirements:

● Minimum GED or high school diploma
● Must pass a criminal background check
● Ability to lift 70 pounds alone
● Ability to climb ladders, bend, kneel, lift, reach, and maneuver donations in the warehouse
● Basic reading, writing, and math skills are required
● Basic computer knowledge
● Self-motivated, reliable, and enthusiastic; able to work with and motivate people with diverse backgrounds and capabilities
● Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
● Open to schedule change when necessary to fit the needs of the organization
● Possess strong communication skills and display professional conduct at all times
● Ability to multitask and think on your feet
