A Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation employer partner is seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Professional to support facility operations during overnight and weekend shifts. This role is critical to ensuring that production, studio, and office environments remain safe, functional, and ready for business operations. The ideal candidate is hands-on, dependable, and comfortable working independently during off-hours.
Key Responsibilities:
-Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and minor repairs across facilities
-Respond promptly to maintenance requests and urgent issues during assigned shifts
-Troubleshoot and repair basic mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry issues
-Conduct preventative maintenance to minimize equipment downtime
-Ensure work areas remain clean, safe, and compliant with safety standards
-Set up, move, or break down equipment, furniture, or fixtures as needed
-Coordinate with on-call vendors or supervisors for issues requiring escalation
-Maintain accurate logs of work completed and materials used
-Support production or operational teams as needed during off-hours
Required Qualifications:
-2+ years of experience in building maintenance, facilities, or a related trade
-Working knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general repairs
-Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
-Comfortable working overnight shifts, weekends, and occasional holidays
-Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
-Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending, climbing, and standing for extended periods
-Reliable transportation and strong attendance record
Preferred Qualifications:
-Experience supporting creative, production, or studio environments
-OSHA safety training or facilities-related certifications
-Familiarity with CMMS or maintenance tracking systems
-Prior experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting
