Brooklyn Navy Yard Releases FY25 Impact Report Highlighting Growth in Advanced Manufacturing, Workforce Training and Climate Innovation

Report details new data, programs and investments advancing inclusive growth, green industry and job creation in New York City

BROOKLYN, NY – January 8, 2026 – The Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation (BNYDC) has released its inaugural FY25 Impact Report, offering a comprehensive look at the community and economic impact of its the 300-acre industrial campus. The report highlights new data, investments and programs that position the Yard at the forefront of the City’s green economy, workforce development and resilience efforts. BNYDC has developed new and expanded existing strategies to foster industrial business growth, quality job creation and inclusive economic development in New York City.
Spanning more than 300 acres along Brooklyn’s waterfront, the Brooklyn Navy Yard is now home to over 550 businesses supporting more than 13,000 jobs and generating more than $2.5 billion in annual economic impact.

“This year’s inaugural Impact Report is not just about our numbers; it’s a testament to a proven model for inclusive economic development,” said Lindsay Greene, president and CEO of the BNYDC. “At a time when cities are reevaluating their industrial developments, we are demonstrating that investing in modern manufacturing, stable jobs and community partnership isn’t just the right thing to do; it’s a powerful engine for resilient economic growth. We are building the future of urban industry right here in Brooklyn.”

Highlights from BNYDC’s FY25 Impact Report include:

  • Brooklyn Navy Yard tenant business cover 17 industries and approximately 45% of Yard businesses are women- and minority-led.
  • Business to Business (B2B) collaboration is one of the strongest indicators of the Yard’s success as an innovative ecosystem. A 2025 analysis found that 55% of Yard companies engaged in more than 625 collaborative activities, ranging from product development to shared supply chain strategies and joint initiatives.
  • In 2025, Yard Labs expanded to support waterfront pilots and successfully launched seven new pilot technologies.
  • BNYDC’s Employment Center filled approximately70% of job orders from Yard tenants with new employees from our local community and beyond.
