Facilities Maintenance Technician

The Albert C. Wiltshire Employment Center recruits qualified candidates for positions within the Brooklyn Navy Yard, a 300-acre industrial park housing over 400+ businesses within the manufacturing, food, media, technology, and creative fields

A Brooklyn Navy Yard-based outdoor recreational space builder is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Establish a daily routine for facility maintenance
• Air Compressor start up and shut down (as a backup for CNC Operator)
• Beginning of day facility check
• End-of-day facility check
• Routine maintenance of equipment, machinery, and facility
• Daily Tumbler room maintenance
• Daily Compression of cardboard via Compressor.
• Daily carboard & Waste disposal
• Organization and inventory of tools and storage
• Coordinate intra-office moves
• Allocate and manage facility space for maximum efficiency
• Allocate and manage facility space for maximum efficiency
• Maintain good standing with punctuality, attendance, and timesheet responsibilities

Back-up Duties (if any):

• Start-up and shut down of air compressor and dust collection system
• All employees should be aware that from time to time the necessity may arise where they may be asked to assist where needed should priorities change.

• Ability to Operate warehouse machinery

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

• The physical demands that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job include frequent standing, walking, and using hands.
• The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
