A Brooklyn Navy Yard-based outdoor recreational space builder is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Establish a daily routine for facility maintenance
- Air Compressor start up and shut down (as a backup for CNC Operator)
- Beginning of day facility check
- End-of-day facility check
- Routine maintenance of equipment, machinery, and facility
- Daily Tumbler room maintenance
- Daily Compression of cardboard via Compressor.
- Daily carboard & Waste disposal
- Organization and inventory of tools and storage
- Coordinate intra-office moves
- Allocate and manage facility space for maximum efficiency
- Allocate and manage facility space for maximum efficiency
- Maintain good standing with punctuality, attendance, and timesheet responsibilities
Back-up Duties (if any):
- Start-up and shut down of air compressor and dust collection system
- All employees should be aware that from time to time the necessity may arise where they may be asked to assist where needed should priorities change.

- Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Ability to Operate warehouse machinery
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
- The physical demands that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job include frequent standing, walking, and using hands.
- The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
